A First

For Christmas we drove to Phoenix, Arizona and visited Dave's cousin Andrew, his wife Becca, and their two little girls Alysia and Madison. They live in a town just outside of Phoenix called Anthem, AZ. This would be the first time either of us had been to Arizon or the Grand Cayon. We arrived Christmas Eve night. On Christmas day we opened presents and did a little exploring. We couldn't do too much though, it was rainy all day.

Giant suguaro cactus. They are so tall.

Dave actually looks small for once.

You probably don't see raindrops on cactus that often.

Madison sitting on Dave. Alysia had been sitting on him but got up before I could take a picture.
The next days were much warmer and sunny out.
Suguaro cactus were everywhere. There were so many of them.

Dave as a cactus.
Tara as a better cactus.
The brown sticks in the middle are what a dead suguaro cactus look like.

A stopping point before the main Grand Canyon part.

The Grand Canyon is so big that it's small. If that makes sense. It's so wide, it's too hard to tell how wide it is. The distance is deceiving. Plus when you're standing at the top, you can't tell how deep it is.

I didn't think of the Grand Cayon as a place to get snow and ice and be incredibly cold.

We saw a bunch of deer by the roads.

There were lots of big, pretty icicles.

Oh Dave.

The whole gang.

I got it...ouch!
