Pella & Omaha

Last week we went to Pella, Iowa to visit Dave's grandparents. His Dad, Mom and siblings drove down so we could spend some time with them as well. We arrived on Tuesday morning and spent all of Wednesday, Thursday and most of Friday with them. We played a lot of Scrabble and Rook. I was able to learn how to play Rook and not have my brothers getting mad at me or not wanting to be my partner. I got pretty good at the game if I do say so myself. We made a few trips to the thrift store and Dave made some delicious curry one night. His Aunt Joyce also made egg rolls which were absolutely to die for! We ate so much on this trip.

On Friday we went to Omaha. One of Dave's friends from college was getting married on Saturday. Dave got a chance to hang out with old college buddies and have a fun tiime at the wedding. I was even able to get him on the dance floor.

It's all so high school

Last Friday night we celebrated Teresa's birthday. Her and Erin threw a high school themed party. Cafeteria food. Music. Trivia. And of course, dress up as a high school student. Were you the jock? Punk? Nerd? Cheerleader?
I made a high school notebook for Teresa comepletely coverded in Robert Pattinson photos. That's so high school.

Your typical lunch tray. Careful, the jello could be spike?

Cheer squad.
Waiting for his turn with the principal.

Twin jocks.
Hey, I'm trying to take my yearbook photo.

Come on guys, one person at a time.

Ah yes, the traditional, basketball pose.

We said one person at a time.

We give up.

7 Minutes in Heaven? How'd that get there?

An unlikely friendship.

Opposites attract.
Hey we kind of look alike. Maybe?

Home schooler's trying to dance.

Geek girl is joining in.

Sorry Teresa, I think he's out of reach.

What a poser.

Surf's up dude!
Hmm, a punk cheerleader?

Dave got some sun the other day.

Saints & Sailors

Our friend Lehua, had a housewarming party with the theme Saints & Sailors. It was mainly sailors though.

David was a Saint Bernard, but he doesn't have his whole outfit on so now he just looks silly. Lehua is next to him.

Whenever I got to a party, I pretty much always bring these games with me. Their home is permanently in my car trunk so I never forget them.

Twins separated at birth but then reunited at the age of 3 to become life long friends? I think so.

Newport Beach

Last weekend we heard there were 20 ft waves at Newport Beach. The 20 footers were mainly on Friday and Saturday. We went on Sunday, but I bet we saw a few good 15 ft waves.

Dave graded papers.

I went for a walk to the pier. We thought there were bigger waves over there. 45 minutes later, after my long slanted walk along the water, I realized they weren't.

Dave sporting the pony tail. It's a recent development.

Sail away. Sail away. Sail away.

A lifeguard stand will forever remind me of The OC.

Waves by a place called "The Wedge". I guess the waves for a triangle type shape. Good for surfing and boggie boarding.
